Change vs. Permanence – Do Not Fear Change

We fear change. The thought of leaving behind what is familiar makes us anxious, and we often wish for things to remain the same forever. We hold on to people, moments, and even our own identities, hoping that they will never fade. But the truth is, nothing in this world is permanent. Everything is in a constant state of change—just like the seasons shift, the river flows, and the sun rises and sets.

Resistance to change only brings suffering. When we try to cling to what must naturally evolve, we create stress, disappointment, and fear. But if we look at nature, we see that change is not something to resist but something to embrace. The river never stops flowing, the wind never stays still, and even the tallest mountains are slowly reshaped over time. Life itself is movement. To fear change is to fear life itself.

Think of a tree. It sheds its leaves in autumn, stands bare in winter, and then blossoms again in spring. If the tree clung to its old leaves, fearing change, it would never experience new growth. Likewise, when we let go of our attachment to permanence, we open ourselves to new possibilities, new joys, and a deeper sense of peace.

Change is not our enemy; it is our teacher. It teaches us to let go, to adapt, and to grow. It reminds us that no matter how dark the night, the sun will always rise again. Instead of fearing change, we should welcome it with an open heart. When we surrender to the ever-changing nature of existence, we find true freedom, harmony, and a life filled with new opportunities.

Do not fear change. Flow with it. Trust it. In doing so, you will discover a peace that remains unshaken by the passing of time.
